Cliff and I got it on Tuesday and watched the first disk before The Daily Show. We were going to finish it last night, but a friend came over for most of the evening. This guy wasn't the type to ask if he'd like to watch the 2nd half of extended edition of an already long movie.
So, we finish it tonight. But there have already been some interesting scenes. Saruman's scene at Isengard resonates in later scenes. Adds depth, imo.
