from newsaskew.com:
"We're happy to announce two more California-based Kevin appearances today. First up, Kevin has just signed to do a live Q&A at UC Berkeley on Wednesday, March 31st. No more details on that at this time, but clear your calendars. He's also scheduled to shoot another Roadside Attractions on February 4th, in Hollywood for the Tonight Show. No air date has been announced as of yet."

Kevin Smith posted all sort of interesting stuff on the View Askew board.
Some highlights:

  • Plans for "An Evening With Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder" are in the works. And there might be a possible taping at the UC Berkeley show, which is scheduled for April. d00d!
  • The Clerks anniversary DVD will have the lost scene of Dante and Randall at Julie Dwyer's funeral, and it'll be animated.
  • After the Dogma inaction figures come out, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back will be the next batch.

Excellent.

And Penny Arcade had a Mallrats moment.

I must be a sad Kevin Smith fangirl when I see Johnny Depp's index finger precariously close to his lip and instead of thinking of Dr. Evil, what do I think of?
Kevin Smith's anecdote about his feud with Tim Burton (which requires Kevin to say "tee hee!" a lot).
And speaking of Kevin: after watching the Gigli trailer a couple of times, I fear for Jersey Girl.

When I was browsing News Askew for a really old picture of Jason Lee (back when he was a pro skater) they had posted awhile back, I came across a link to the All Girl Summer Fun Band web site where they wrote a song about Jason Lee. It's no "David Duchovny, why won't you love me?" but it's cute.

And apparently I have lost all my Asian street cred because I like to put ketchup on fried rice. Yeah, I'm looking for a shirt with a twinkie on it.

Good news: I only have to pay the IRS $70 this year, and I'm getting $20 back from the state. W00t! Much better than the $300 I had to shell out last year.

Saw Spun Saturday night. Eh. Trainspotting's a better movie, mostly because it has an actual story to tell, and following a specific character around gives it focus. Technically, Spun's got Ross as its constant, but it's mostly made of pieces put together: not everyone's related in this dealer/buyer web and not everyone knows Ross, so sometimes you wonder why you're there. Though the Deborah Harry and Eric Roberts cameos were fun. And I'm sure there's a message in blowing up Mickey Rourke.

Stayed up far too late last night watching my favorite moments from Chasing Amy and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I would pay good money to see Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season!

Viewaskew already has some ShoWest movie posters up for Jersey Girl. I've been staying pretty much spoiler free--though not by choice. I'm just too lazy to look up stuff about the plot, and I don't really like reading Kevin Smith's during-the-making diaries until I've seen the movies and can put everything in context.

Okay, okay, back to work.

There are times when I regret that I did not pick up "Mooby the Golden Calf" as my LJ username.
