Guilty pleasures
Dec. 22nd, 2009 02:01 amOne reason why I love one of my local theaters is that they offer POPCORN SEASONINGS! Who doesn't love a Ranch-flavored bucket of popcorn? Parmesan and Garlic is pretty good too. There's also NACHO CHEESE! And now my local grocery store has started carrying it. Sweet! At last, I can finally eat the organic stuff the Hubby has been buying so we don't get popcorn lung. (On a sidenote, there are actually lawyers specializing in popcorn lung, http://www.popcornlung.com.)
It's that time of year again so I'm super busy but I'm really thankful for the Christmas cards and sorry I'm not reciprocating this year. I cannot wait for Valentine's Day because then all this work-related asshattery will finally be over (furloughs not included).
In other news, the Star Trek episode of Mythbusters is coming up! w00t!

Mar. 24th, 2008 07:36 pmThe husband and I were watching Iggy Pop and the Stooges performing "Ray of Light" to celebrate Madonna's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and realized Iggy would make a pretty awesome Hedwig though I don't know if I want him to do the "It's a car wash, ladies and gentlemen!" on my face.
And I don't why but this shot of Iggy, Madonna and Justin Timberlake makes me snicker.

omgbetrayal!
Mar. 18th, 2008 01:15 amI thought The Daily Mail was my friend. It told me stories of fat dormouses, ducklings being raised in a teacup and orphaned baby animals that adopted odd things as their new mother.
And now the Daily Mail has broken my heart with this new development:
Fuck that. I'm going back to my old diet.( continue for LULZ )
And now the Daily Mail has broken my heart with this new development:
Drinking wine damages the brain more than beer or spirits, scientists claim. They say it particularly affects the hippocampus, the part of the brain associated with memory and spatial awareness, and one of the first areas to be affected by Alzheimer's disease. It could explain why millions forget what they are doing mid-task, or arrive in a room only to forget why they went there in the first place.

The bestest tie-in ever!

OMG, I almost wish I was in fourth grade again so I could learn to play the Harry Potter theme instead of Hot Crossed Buns at my class recital.

I am in need of some Marauders humor now that I've finished Book 7.
Gotta love those Marauders! (no spoilers)

Jul. 16th, 2007 05:19 pmIt's CSI's Gil Grissom if he were a My Little Pony (!!!!!).
He's like the Jared Leto of bunnies.
And just in case you don't know what look Jared Leto is sporting nowadays, ahem.
I need to put these pics side by side because the resemblance is just too uncanny.
BTW, I will finally get the CW in HD. Aw yeah, Jared and Jensen in HD.
I hope no one sees me licking the screen.

Deputy reportedly admitted stealing dead woman's cash.
Also, CATS.
And OMG KITCHEN.

A crossover made especially for
braisinhussy and
moriyama_umi: an icon songset of Katara/Zuko with lyrics from Franz Ferdinands's "40 ft".
The icon maker also made the icon I'm using now and a hilarious cockblocked Zuko icon.

There's a petition to pull Avatar: the Last Airbender off the air because it discriminates against non-Asians.
And yes, no one is taking it seriously.
*snickers at
braisinhussy because she is too white to cosplay anyone on the show--though in your defense I am waiting for the random The Lost World episode but it would have Swedes instead of dinosaurs*

There's a lot of garter stitches here
Nov. 2nd, 2006 11:25 pmWell, I've been a bad sock knitter.
I did start a pair of socks and made quite a bit of progress (one just needs a heel and the other is almost halfway complete) but I spent most of Socktoberfest knitting baby things (for the first grandchild of the East Coast family since me).
So far there is a hat, two bibs, a toy and a 6-month old sized sweater in progress. When the yarn comes in, I hope to make three more sweaters (two in newborn size, one in 12-month old and with lots of cables, oooo!). I hope to have it done by Christmas since the baby is due in January.
Pictures will come soon once I find a teddy bear to model everything.
After watching VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the 80s, Simon Le Bon is still way pretty, and David Lee Roth's bluegrass version of "Jump" is very odd.
