So the boyfriend is extremely relieved we won't be able to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest together. He apparently is afraid of my fangirl squees once Jack Davenport appears as scruffy!Norrington. To hell with him I say.

And the revamped POTC ride just sounds so awesome. Johnny Depp with kohl eyeliner just makes everything better.

Also, I either have excellent google fu or I'm a creepy stalker: someone I know had a tv makeover! (She's told us a bunch of times; it's just that none of us have ever watched her episode or seen any stills.)

Sometime last night, I became a Sparrington fan.

It must be the mix of rum and brocade.

I am deeply amused by this picture. I have no words--besides "OMG! Gold spandex!"

I found it while looking for Pirates of the Caribbean premiere photos at movies.com.
Now that I've seen POTC for the umpteenth time, I now find Norrington's attraction to Elizabeth kind of squicky (in that Lewis Carroll proposing marriage to Alice Liddell when she was only 11 kind of way).

But damn if Jack Davenport isn't growing on me--especially after listening to the commentary he does with Keira Knightley.

I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean again, with friends who still hadn't watched it yet.

On a second viewing, I noticed:

The monkey is really fluffy.
That Jack ends a good chunk of his sentences with "savvy?" which does explain the "savvy" POTC icons I've been seeing.
No real blacksmith is built like Orlando Bloom.
The jail dog is really scruffy and cute.
The blonde woman sitting on the barrels, dribbling (what I would guess is) grog into the mouth of a pirate drinking out of two tankards? Her boobs are so fake.
Scarlet (the first woman to smack Jack) may or may not be a reference to the redhead from the ride's bride auction. I suspect DVD commentary may clear that up.
Where does ( just a tad spoilerish )

After watching Pirates of the Caribbean last night, I realize Johnny Depp looks damned good with eyeliner.
My Johnny-lust has been reawakened.
