I know quite a few Rentheads. Because of their enthusiasm, I feel compelled to watch the movie to see what the fuss is all about.

At the same time, Jim Poulos isn't in it (nafmij has trained me very well) and Chris Columbus is directing.
O god, o god, make him go away. He's like the Kevin J. Anderson of movie adaptations.

And what I'll be seeing will be a completely different experience (though I do cherish my own Johnny-come-lately Hedwig love).

I know some people were excited about the movie back in August though I don't know if other Rentheads hate this movie with the same ire I had when "Charade" was remade with Marky Mark. omgwtfbbq

I was quite the little renthead back in the day (I can still sing practically the whole libretto on demand), but I swear I didn't even know about the movie until a saw a commercial a few weeks ago (also, I don't know who Jim Poulos is. Okay, hold on. Oh, he was Mark? But Anthony Rapp is in it, and he was Mark first. Plus, Anthony Rapp was in the X-Files, as was Jesse L. Martin, and Taye Diggs wasn't, but he was in West Wing). Okay, so I will see Rent happily, and I'm kind of intrigued about Rosario Dawson as Mimi, but like many things that I totally obsessed over when I was in 8th grade (not including XF, of course), I have since realized that Rent is actually a bit cheesy (although still awesome) so I hesitate to say, OMG Debbie you'll LOVE IT, but yeah, go see it, it's no Hedwig, but it does rule.

If you end up not liking the movie, I hope you won't think too badly of us RENTheads. I think we're all scared and giddy at the same time!

I'm looking forward to it and I like a lot of the actors though I'm really sad Jim isn't in it.

I was obsessed with RENT in high school, but I was one of dem musical theatre types at the time. I hadn't heard of Jim Poulos either, but I like Anthony Rapp in the role.

Want to go see the movie together? I need to find out if you can actually see me in the New Years Eve street scene ;)
