Taking a break from icon making. Got frustrated at attempts to tweak my Gillian Anderson/Verve icon. Completely gave up when I tried to make that Bean as Macbeth/"by the pricking of my fandom's thumbs..." icon: having trouble finding a non-bitmap font I can use for the word "wicked" that doesn't look jaggedly at a small size.
Am currently reading het smut.
Yeah, I'm sorry too. ;p
It's by Christine Morgan, my favorite Gargoyles fanfic writer. Haven't read her stuff in years but I just found some old mpegs and wavs from Gargoyles and I got nostalgic. She actually still continues to write with the characters (though she plans to retire her spin-offs soon), while another fan-written series, TGS, ended at least a year ago.
Probably will go see the movie Holes. [livejournal.com profile] livyclemens lent me her copy and I finished it yesterday. Really liked the book. Granted, the boy they cast for Stanley isn't fat but the rest of the boys seems to be right on (physically, anyway). Love that Sigourney Weaver will be playing the Warden.
Will get around to posting why I prefer Young Adult Literature to current fiction (Faulkner and Oprah are at the heart of it).

Wow, you're into Gargoyles? One of the main internet fandoms I'm part of (and the one that lead me to LJ) was originally gargoyles-based. I know lots of people in the Gargs fandom and I have friends of friends of Christine Morgan, but I've never really been into fanfic.

Fanart on the other hand...*shudders at all her old Gargoyles fanart pics*

It's how I stumbled upon the art of Aimee Major, Christi Hayden-Smith and the rest.
I still have notebooks of garg fanart too. ;p
I even wrote reviews for The Gargoyles Saga site until school got in the way. I think I stopped reading garg fanfic all together when I started my thesis a couple of years ago.
My sister still has a good number of the episodes recorded, and she's got them hidden in her room so they're not accidentally taped over with bad action films (like my dad did with my old Jem tapes).
