I'm watching an unknown episode of Spaced where Nick Frost is sporting aviator sunglasses, tiny shorts and a mustache, and he looks awesome.
I finally watched the season premiere of Mad Men and I'm so happy.
OMG Sal got married! And his wife's name is Kitty! Considering Sal is veryveryvery gay but is willing to suffer quietly, I wonder how long it will take for Kitty to figure it out.
Pete is still is a dick. He buys his wife chocolates, and ends up eating the whole box. What a dick.
Poor Lois. She was crushing on Sal and he's married now. She's no longer a switchboard operator and is moving up as Don's new secretary but everyone's so mean to her! I'm glad Peggy is more confident, and she no longer fucking takes shit--even perceived shit--from anyone, but damn Sterling Cooper has hardened her. I blame Pete, Ken and Paul. Lois is going to have to learn not to be one of those crying ladies in the bathroom.
Speaking of Paul, I like the new beard.
Paul/Joan OTP!
I wonder if Joan is pulling some passive aggressive shit by telling Lois not to underestimate Peggy but then sticks the biggest Xerox machine ever into Peggy's tiny office, which she shares with two other people.
Also, Joan and Betty are hot.
When Betty was "bartering" with the mechanic, I was screaming, "What are you doing?! You are no Juanita! This will end badly like Belle de Jour!" Then I remembered I was watching Mad Men, not Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and I was happy again.
Hahaha! Random Tasha Yar cameo! As Gertie, the riding instructor.
I did really like Don's mini speech about the folks who say "sex sells" actually aren't in advertising and think it's all done by monkeys who smear their shit on billboards. I realize Peggy was throwing out copy, but it was creepy to hear her say "Welcome home, Daddy" to Don.
Damn Venture Bros, I could only see Dr. Girlfriend during the White House tour scenes.
I think Don sent the book to Midge since it would appeal to her beatnik sensibilities. I really liked Rachel but it's obvious Don's cowardice totally killed their relationship. I'm not liking Don's philandering but I really liked Rachel. Technically nothing happened in this episode but it's going to be the little things like book's mystery recipient is going to be giant fucking revelations in the latter half of the season.
I'm so happy this show is back.
